drug screen

Does vicodin and tylenol with codeine show up the same on urine screens ? As opiates or some other breakdown?

I will be having minor procedure and I will be prescribed one of those

I would review your contract. It shouldn't matter how it breaks down as long as you follow the procedures set in your agreement.

My contract requires a script from the doctor and then a clean UA to return to work after the a prescription is up.

Good luck on your procedure!!

Depending on what tests are done you can get a variety of results. If it's just a quick sample not done thru a lab you most likely will get a positive for opiates. Some breakdown a littl farther and you can identify Hydrocodobe. If it's sent to a lab the Vicodin will show up as Hydrocodone. Tylenol with Codeine will show up as Codeine. Both will show up as opiates. They can also get a rough estimate of about how much you used as well as when you used. It will also be able to tell you if it's a one time dose or many doses over time. This is based off of metabolites. If there are any and how many there are.

Hope me this answers your question.

Thank you so much for your reply . I asked this question before when I was getting a root canal and the responses I received were if you have a script don't worry about it. But I do worry because I don't want to mess up. I don't even take any over the counter medicine for a cold. And I would rather be miserable for few days than look like I relapsed!

My urine drug screen is done through Quest lab. If I do test positive for opiates will they do further testing to determine what kind of opiate it is ? I haven't relapsed but I want to be informed and prepared in case I do need to take anything

My advice...try to skip taking them altogether. I got three broken teeth literally dug out of my jaw with only the numbing injection that the dentist offered and ibuprofen and tylenol. If I can then so can anyone else. Sore but doable. If your future means anything, which I'm sure it does, skip it. They frown on everything up there. Sorry.
