Can anyone help me with books that are great with drug calc? Also I think my weakest part in nursing school is learning drug types, what a drug does, what it treats, everything about drugs- any great index cards or books that I could use to help?
The only time we really learn about drugs is Pharmacology, all other classes is sink or swim.

Math for Meds is what we used in our first semester. Also get the Davis Drug Guide, either the actual book or get the program for your PDA/iPhone/Blackberry. It is awesome. I also bought the Nurse's Med Deck which is basically a box with about 400 4x6 cards with Meds, S/E, interactions, route, etc. Very useful.

How are you learning drugs? You need to learn PROTOTYPES. PROTOTYPES WILL SAVE YOU. I'm not kidding. You can't just sit there with a laundry list of drugs and hope you can just learn them. It will not work.
As far as drug calculations, make sure you know and understand conversions - mcg - mg - g, etc. Once you have the math down you will be able to convert any drug from any amount.
Good luck!
