Driving on a suspended license

Published

Hi everyone I recently graduated from nursing school May 13th. I took and passed NCLEX August 8th and submitted my application to get my license August 17th. The very next day August 18th I got pulled over for my tints on my windows apparently being too dark. I didn't know my driving licence was suspended for red light photo tickets. They arrested me, fingerprinted me at the station, and I have to go to court in a few weeks. I'm going to pay the tickets and get my license reinstated before I go to court so the case will most likely get thrown out. I'm not sure if the board of nursing will see this on my background considering it just happened? I'm worried I'm going to have to wait to get my license :( this seriously could not have happened at a worse time. Other than this incident I never been in trouble...I'm sure they're reviewing my application as we speak will this be an issue?

They won't know about it since it just happened, but if and when you receive a conviction, you do need to report it. Don't try and be sneaky and hide it, I have a friend who they recently caught wind of her DUI's (yes, plural) that she didn't report and she no longer has her nursing license. They will find out, maybe not right away, but sooner or later. I doubt they will take any action against driving on a suspended license charge anyways. You are a small fish in a big pond.

Congrats on finishing nursing school and good luck to you!
