I am taking the NCLEX PN on June 11th. I know that they require you to show your drivers license and it says they need a "recent picture". In my licenses picture i have brown hair down to my shoulders and now i have blond hair in a pixie cut. Do I need to get a new drivers license for the nclex?
Thanks and good luck everyone!!!!!!!

Interesting question. I do believe the phrase "recent picture" means they want you to resemble your picture, blonde picture, blonde you. I definitely would call them and ask before the 11th.

I took NCLEX in late 2005. My driver's license picture looked nothing like me, but I still was admitted into the test center anyway.
My driver's license picture had been taken in 1999 when I was 18 years of age. Of course, a lot of physical changes had occurred regarding my complexion, hairstyle, weight, and so forth. The identification was still acceptable to the proctor at the testing center.
Anyway, you won't be able to get a new driver's license before June 11. It is already June 2nd, and bureaucracies always take their sweet time when mailing IDs. Good luck on the NCLEX!

I'm actually waiting on my new license to take the NCLEX as we speak. I renewed at the very beginning of May, but the entire Texas system hit a virus that caused a 6 week backlog, so all I have is the paper temporary one.
I had to go make a new one in person, because the one I've been using has my picture from when I was 16. As you can renew online in Texas, it's kept the same picture the last 10 years. Needless to say, I wasn't bald with a goatee at 16.

im not sure, but i took the nclex-rn exam this morning and it is a relatively new picture of me (2 years old) and i havent changed much, but the lady still asked me to smile to make sure it was me. i would take any additional forms of government issued identification just in case (such as a passport) if you have it, even if it doesnt look like you, just to prove to them that it really is you! better to be safe than sorry :)
ps the lady even compared my signatures on my drivers license to the one i provided on the electronic keypad - holy cow good thing my handwriting stays the same!
