Drexel Nursing ACE Program Fall 2013

HI guys, so I am very new to this but I am EXTREMELY anxious about getting accepted into this program for the Fall. I have a Public Health Degree and have quite some experience in the Health field (ie. hospitals, senior living home, companion care, education).

Reading other forums I really don't know what my chances are of getting in. I have seen someone with a cum. gpa of 2.6 get in, while someone with a 3.0 get denied. Anyone who has applied, have you heard back from Drexel yet? Do you know anyone who was accepted into the spring 2013 semester.

I'm praying EXTRA hard. I never wanted anything so much in my life. All my Application materials have been in since August 6.

Hi everyone,

I know alot of people are still waiting for admissions decisions so I wanted to post in hopes of helping out with some of my info. I found out this afternoon around 1:00 that I was accepted to Drexel for fall 2013!!! I have a 3.0 undergrad, a 3.91 grad, a 3.67 last 60 credits and a 3.6 pre-req gpa. Both my undergrad and grad degrees are in Education and I have been an 8th grade mathematics teacher for the last few years. I have been volunteering at a hospital in Philadelphia for about 6 months now too. I also submitted letters of rec. and an essay even though it was not required.

I emailed Evan and he has been a wonderful help so I recommend doing so if you have any questions about anything at all!!!

I too had been stalking the Drexel portal everyday, a million times a day waiting for a decision. I hope some of you get your decision soon and I am wishing you all the best. I look forward to meeting alot of you soon!

Hi everyone! I called the office of admissions and they transfered me to Evan. He said that they're currently going through applications from september and they are trying to get as many as they can done before winter break. He said that those who applied in october should expect hearing back at the end of december or early january. Hope this helps.

Just wanted to send a quick message that I found out I got in on Thursday!!! I'm a senior at Ohio State studying Human Nutrition, so I am still deciding between a few other programs in Ohio. I was not expecting to get in because some of my science classes were not A's, but I'm very excited!!!!! I would love to try something new and move to Philadelphia!

Hey all, I just logged onto discover Drexel and saw my acceptance status! I'm still waiting to hear back from WCU, but man am I glad to have the fear of rejection out of the way. Drexel is my top choice, so I will probably see all you ACE students in the fall.

Found out today I got into Drexel's Fall 2013 ACE Program. Submitted my application mid-September and had a 3.3 undergrad gap and a 3.8 for the last 60 credits. Most pre-reqs were already done. I graduated from the University of Maryland with a BS in Kinesiology and worked as an athletic trainer for a bit. Can't wait to meet everyone in the program!

Hi! I applied for Spring 2013 around September. I got my acceptance sometime in November. I had to defer for Fall 2013 because of the Ethics class that I still have to take. Also, I just felt a bit rushed and there are so many other requirements (immunizations, background checks, etc.) that need to be met some months before the program actually starts. I am extremely excited about the program. I can't wait to meet everyone in the fall. Good luck to those still waiting on decisions. Also, there are Facebook groups for the Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 cohorts. You can find a lot of helpful info on the pages as well as communicate with other students. I'm currently living in Baltimore, MD. If anyone is in MD and whats connect or whatever, feel free to hit me up. Okay, I'm done! :)

Hi, I also applied to the fall 2013 ACE program...app. was complete mid Sept.....still waiting to hear. My main concern is not being able to find a job when we get out. I know several people that just can't find work. Does anyone know what Drexel's employment rate after graduation is? Also, I have 2 kids, ages 9 and 18mos. I am concerned w/the intensity of the program. If I get accepted, I may defer to spring '14. Not sure...just hoping I get in at this point.

Me either. I contacted one of the advisor last week and was told that my application is in the queue to go to the committee this week. So hopefully we will hear from them in the next couple weeks.

I am not sure if reading all the posts from former ACE applicants is helpful or harmful. I am also applying to UMDNJ....but don't know if I will have the same chance of getting a job.
