Drexel ACE Spring 2013, any applicants out there?

Hello All-

I applied to the ACE program for Spring 2013 start date. Just wondering if there is any one else out there who will be playing the waiting game for the next several weeks/months ;)

I had all but Ethics completed.

Hi everyone my name's Rob...I just applied to the Spring 2013 cohort last Thursday August 9th, and just checked and all my transcripts have made it as of today.

I've only completed exactly 9 of the 13 required prerequisites (just finished A&P 1&2 and Nutrition this Summer). I'm taking Micro, Chem, Lifespan, and Medical Ethics in the Fall.

I'm just wondering if anyone has been accepted conditionally and has not yet finished all their prereqs? I'm so worried they'll sit on my application and I won't hear from them until the end of the year, but it sounds like many of you received answers right back. Was that because you have all the prereqs already completed?

Any answers I'd appreciate!

Rob- They received my last transcript last Wednesday (the 8th) and I haven't heard yet. I still have to take Ethics, but I'm going to call tomorrow just to make sure they don't need anything else to make a decision. I'm really hoping to find out soon because if I don't get in, I have another course to take for Jefferson as a pre-req to apply there for the FACT program for May. I don't want to take an extra science course for no reason, I could use that money for nursing school if I don't need to take it. Keep us posted on when you hear something!

I attend University as an undergraduate nursing student in the 5 year BSN co-op option and congrats to those in the ACE program it is a vary hard and rigorous program to accomplish. However, as for Drexel overall and its administration you absolutely must stay on top of them WITH EVERYTHING POSSIBLE ... Keep in touch about your records, transcripts, tuition, fees (costs), literally anything because they will try and say otherwise and things will get lost most times. I am just now starting my clinical and it took me 5 times to finally get my clinical information through like immunizations because no one would update my files or anything or respond back!

Oh man...thanks for the replies....if you all have basically all your prereqs completed then I'm not as confident in getting in.I have mostly As so far but they don't want an essay or recommendation letters or interview or any information about you really so it seems they can only base the acceptance on grades and completion of prereqs.

I really thought I had a shot....I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Does anyone know of how many seats are still open for Spring 2013? And why four months after the deadline are there still seats available? Has anyone heard of someone being accepted with 4 more prereqs to go? (mine are Micro, Chem, Lifespan, Ethics...I know I'll get all As, but they don't know that.)

Good luck to all of us, I really hope to be swapping these stories with you all come April 2013 in person at the program!

Hi Everyone!!! I just got the great news yesterday that I am accepted for the 2013 Spring Cohort. I just want to put some hope out there for others because when I initially applied I only have 5 of the 13 pre-reqs done. I took 3 more over the summer and I am also doing one now and the rest will be taking in the Fall. The reason it took so long to get a response was because after each of my summer sessions I had to resend transcripts. So for everyone waiting for a response hang in there and don't give up hope. Also is there anyone from South Jersey area? I may be driving up there everyday.

Also ajacks101 I have to take Chem, Micro, Ethics and nutrition in the fall. Don't give up hope =)

Hi! Wondering if any of you know about the following?

If we pay our $500 tuition deposit and enroll with , can we back out and attend another school later? Drexel is my 2nd choice school, and I'm still waiting on UPitt's (1st choice) admission decision. I want to ensure I am in Drexel's spring class, but if by some miracle, UPitt accepts me, I will probably go there since I'm originally from Pitt. I know that I will lose the $500 if I decide to go to another school, but I'm wondering if I might get penalized any other way?

Anyone run into this situation?

Did they give you a provisional/conditional acceptance based on your Fall grades? I am hoping at the very least I can get something like that soon just so that I know I'll be in.

Can I ask what your GPAs were? My undergrad is in Liberal Arts. My last 60 credits GPA is 3.5-3.7 depending on how they calculate, and my prereqs GPA is 3.8 so far.

Where are you taking your Chem, Micro and Ethics? I am taking them at DCCC, if you are too maybe I'll see you around!

Hey all! I have an update! I called my admissions counselor about an hour ago to see if I could find out when I'd hear because if I don't get in, I have extra pre-reqs to take for my backup school. He told me I was in the queue to be reviewed by the middle of next week but he would prioritize me to be reviewed Monday or possibly today. Well, about 45 minutes after I called, I opened the Discover website just to see if it said that it was under review or anything, and I saw that I got in!!! So I will be joining all of you in the spring! Can't wait!!

Thank you!!! Actually I am not quite sure of my exact GPA for my pre reqs because I took them at several different schools but they were all As and Bs I think maybe one C. My Bachelors is in Advertising and I graduated with a 3.1 I believe. Your GPA is great so you really shouldn't have any problems.

I told them the classes I was taking in the fall and my acceptance doesn't say provisional but i'm sure it is since I have to finish those classes. Did you send them an outline of when you plan on taking your remaining classes?

I am taking Chem, Micro and Nutrion at CCC and Ethics at GCC.

Ajacks, when did you apply and have your transcripts sent? My last one wasn't received until August 8 and I was due to be reviewed next week until I called. This was the 3rd time I called about things and finally got it pushed thru.
