Drexel ACE Spring 2013, any applicants out there?

Hello All-

I applied to the ACE program for Spring 2013 start date. Just wondering if there is any one else out there who will be playing the waiting game for the next several weeks/months ;)

Hello Again.

So I am trying to get a private loan for this program. Only problem is almost everyone says I have to wait at least 3-6 months before the program starts to apply for loans. We all know that we have a 60 day period to give a final answer as to whether or not we accept. How are the rest of you dealing with this dilemma?

Can anyone suggest private loans that they are using? I am just in over my head and I want to go to this program so bad, but I DO NOT want to be stuck paying for tuition and not have a means to pay.

Anyone else in this situation??

Hi :) Yea I emailed the finaid advisor and she said they it's best to apply for loans in January. I decided to attend and I'm hoping that I can get most of my loans from the direct parent plus one..

I am looking too! Im deciding whether or not to live in university city or near med campus .. Depends on $$$ I guess :/

Hi,

I filled out my online application on the July 17th, transcripts were sent on the 18th so I am assuming they got there by the 23rd or 24th. I received my acceptance package in the mail yesterday which was the 30th. I think that was reallllly fast and I am surprised they responded so quickly considering how late I applied. Kinda makes me wonder if they are desperate for students lol? Anybody know how many students they are accepting for this cohort?

Thank you for that info. I applied the same day and they should have gotten my last transcript last Wednesday but on the website it still says they haven't received it. I called yesterday and they said to give them until Friday as it may take time to process because they receive so many. Unfortunately I'm going away Friday until Tuesday and won't have any sort of internet or cell service to check, but if they still don't have it by Wednesday I will be taking a copy down to the office and handing it in myself. Hopefully I'll be able to celebrate soon!

how long did it take from when you received your acceptance letter until you received your financial aid package information? there is a message on my portal page which states the following (and i am sure is standard on every students page):

congratulations on your admission to drexel university! we are currently reviewing your account and finalizing your financial aid package for the bachelor of science in accelerated career entry bsn program for the 2012-2013 academic year. you will be notified via mail if any additional information is required to complete your financial aid award.

also did you receive it via regular mail or email?

Hi and congrats! Can I ask when you got your acceptance letter, and when you submitted your application? I submitted two weeks ago, and just want to get a feel for how long I'm gonna be sitting on pins and needles waiting for a admission decision ahh! Thanks!

Jess.Lebowtiz, I just graduated with a B.S. in Family Studies & Human Development. Living in Tucson until I make the move to Philly, which should be sometime in early January. I've never been to Philadelphia so I'm going in pretty blind here... I have no idea where to live, but would like to live as close to the campus as possible! Preferably with other ACE students too... So exciting to hear that there is another Zona girl accepted! When are you moving/where are you living and when are you going?

Anybody find it difficult to get someone on the phone? There are a lot of variables and moving parts to my decision to attend before I send a non-refundable $500 deposit. I have important questions I need answered about student loans and the course schedule for the program. I applied to Sallie Mae and it basically said "the program for which you are applying the loans has to begin within 6 months", which is a pain because I need to know now if I can get the funding but the program starts 7/8 months from now. I am also currently accepted to CCP's program which I only have until September 3rd to withdraw from without any academic/financial consequences. I also don't want to forfeit my spot at CCP just to learn I can't get the funding for . Anyone else having these issues?

Hi everyone my name's Rob...I just applied to the Spring 2013 cohort last Thursday August 9th, and just checked and all my transcripts have made it as of today.

I've only completed exactly 9 of the 13 required prerequisites (just finished A&P 1&2 and Nutrition this Summer). I'm taking Micro, Chem, Lifespan, and Medical Ethics in the Fall.

I'm just wondering if anyone has been accepted conditionally and has not yet finished all their prereqs? I'm so worried they'll sit on my application and I won't hear from them until the end of the year, but it sounds like many of you received answers right back. Was that because you have all the prereqs already completed?

Any answers I'd appreciate!
