Drexel Ace Fall 2014

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Published

Hello everyone! JerseyGirl87 here. Is there anyone else out there planning on applying to the ACE Nursing program for Fall 2014?? I know it's still fairly early - applications aren't due for another six months or so, but I'm still hoping to find some fellow applicants (**fingers crossed**)

A little about me for those of you who may be curious, I'm 25, currently active duty military (deployed at the moment), and have had an interest in the ACE program for a few years. My ultimate goal os to become a Nurse Anesthetist.

Now that I've got less than a year and a half remaining on my military contract, it's time to start planning for what's next. I will be honest in saying that although I've had an interest in the program for quite some time, I am a procrastinator by nature and have not been very diligent in getting my pre-requisites completed. Part of it has been procrastination, and part of it has been a lack of time energy due to military and volunteer obligations, and other personal activities. So anyways, now I'm buckling down on getting my degree and other pre-requisites completed, with a goal of having them all completed by the application deadline - I know that this is not a requirement, but I'd like to give myself the most competitive edge possible in what seems every year to be such an enormous pool of applicants. With just over six moths to spare, it will be difficult (especially during a deployment), but I'm determined to get it done.

Here's a rundown of my progress, I encourage you to share yours as well...

Questions to you all to satisfy my curiosity...

What is your current professional field?

Why Drexel?

Do you have educational goals beyond your BSN?

Are you currently located in the Philadelphia area, or elsewhere?

If accepted to Drexel, how will you be financing your education?

Looking forward to your responses!

Hey!

So I turned in my application and had all my transcripts in by September 15th and I was accepted on the 15th(I still think that's really weird/fast/good/not complaining, lol. I had taken 3 summer courses( ethics, computers, and a&pII), but apparently they had changed the prerequisites sometime in September after I had already taken the courses. Of the current prerequisites, the only one I don't have is nutrition. I double majored in Cell Biology/Neuroscience and Psychology at Rutgers. I also wrote an essay because I had experience as a CNA and unit clerk which I thought would help. My GPA was definitely not competitive so I'm really surprised that I got in and found out so quick.. lol.

And thanks klp1886! Congrats to you as well! was the only school that I applied to. I live in New Brunswick now, but my home is in South Jersey(15 minutes from Philly), so hoping that commuting/parking won't be too much of a problem..

NadaHin, is the only school I applied to as well. I also live in south jersey so I'm hoping I can just take the patco right over.

I am currently a senior at the University of Pittsburgh majoring in anthropology and minoring in chemistry. I have all of the prerequisites completed aside from A&P II and microbiology. My cumulative GPA is a 3.5 and my prerequisite GPA is a 3.6. I am still really shocked that I have already received notice, it almost doesn't make sense. I know it is a bit early to be thinking about this but for those of you coming from out of town, do you have any idea about where you are going to live?

Thanks everyone for providing your stats! And congrats to all of you guys! I'm dying to know my decision now! Has anyone else heard back?

Specializes in Pediatrics, Oncology.

I didn't hear back yet but I did get an email today confirming my application is complete, it's been forwarded to the admissions committee, & they'll notify me when a decision has been made. I guess that's all I get for now ._. Haha

Congrats to those accepted and good luck to those that applied! I was accepted in to the Spring 2014 cohort, but deferred to fall so I'll be joining you! Other cohorts started facebook pages and it looks like that is where a lot of people meet and find roommates. I haven't checked for a fall 2014 page yet, but I'll look next time I'm on there. Maybe after we hear a few more people were accepted we can start one if need be. Good luck everyone!!

Hi all,

I just applied to the ACE program yesterday. My application is now considered complete. I'm trying to apply to the Spring 2014 class. I was told by an admissions assistant that applications are still being reviewed for the Spring Cohort. Any one on the same boat as me?

Here are my stats:

Originally from NYC

BS in Psychology

3.8 GPA

Been working in the legal field for the last two years after graduating college with some health related volunteer and work experience.

Does anyone know if the spring cohort is full that they would automatically consider our applications for FALL 2014?

Good luck to all!

Hello everyone! Does anyone know how many students are accepted into each cohort? Or just in general how big the class sizes have been in the past? I was told all decisions "should" be made prior to Nov. 30, but I'm starting to get a little nervous seeing people were already accepted. I check discover all day, every day and still nothing! Btw congrats to those who have been accepted!! Hope to join you :)

Just found out i was accepted for fall 2014! i applied in late september and emailed Evan yesterday and found out less than 24 hrs later. I would definitely recommend contacting him if you are anxiously waiting to hear back!
