Drama in nursing?

Published

Hello everyone,

I got accepted into nursing school to start this semester but denied it due to second thoughts. Is nursing like high school with the drama and people talking about you/judging you? My first bachelors is in education and I love how supportive everyone is, my team is all about surviving and helping each other to all succeed. I noticed that nurses talk a lot about patients and each other. Will becoming a nurse anesthetist or nurse practitioner help escape the “high school” drama and unnecessary chattering that goes on? What is your take on drama in the nursing field?

Not sure where you get that idea about nursing. Did you ever work on floor, maybe as a tech or something? I think it really depends on where you work. In the nursing field there are literally hundreds of different environments you could work in. I work in an outpatient infusion center, and we work awesome as a team. I don't feel there is any drama on our unit. We love (most) of our patients and they love us. On another note, nursing isn't for every one, and if you don't REALLY want it, then don't do it.

I mean every workplace can be perceived to be just like "high school" idk if you could ever escape people that are dramatic lol. They are everywhere in the world.

If you literally had such doubt to deny getting into a program that hundreds of people are dying to get into then I guess you shouldnt?
