Don't Want To BE A CNA anymore!!!

Hello Wonderful All Nurses Community,

I am trying to get through my summer session at the University. I work only one time a week, which has been very hard since my Professor schedules the exams on Monday. I really have to concentrate on school. I feel sometimes when I think like this I feel so childish. I am in my 40's and have a lot of responisbilties. My youngest child is 11. I am so tried of being a CNA. I know that I can be so much more. I am working toward getting a better life for my kids, but I feel so overwhelmed working 12 hours in one day. I know that Nursing will be like this also, but I won't have school hanging over my head. I have worked so hard to get where I'm at. Summer is my last session before I apply to Nursing. I know Nursing will be a big responsiblity also. I really don't want to work as a CNA anymore. I think I got a lot of experience from this line of work. I am trying to get a job that I can work from home. Does anyone have any ideas? I can't give up this job just yet, because I don't have nothing set up for me to just quit. I hate my job!! I want to be my own boss!! I want to educate myself so much that I will be able to pick and choose any job that is offered to me. I really regret all of my stupid decsions in my life. I know this sound like a pitty party, but I am to old now to be working like this. I find little enjoyment in this line of work. I want to be so much more. Thanks all nurses community this has been a terrific website. I needed to vent, as I get ready for work.

When I started looking into Nursing as a career, I was advised I should begin as an STNA (aka CNA in OH). I am 30 and want to start school as soon as possible. I have 3 kids, youngest is 3. I didn't think working and going to school would be possible for me. So I decided to just go straight into school. However, I did work at home for almost 2 years and I enjoyed the flexibility of working my own shifts and being my own boss. I emailed you some links to point you in the right direction. Let me know if you have any questions.

It's good to hear your perpective on working as a CNA. I was about to blow $1400.00 on training with the Red Cross.

I'm out of work and thinking of working at a hospital while I go to school, but if it's that hard. I'll just taking a part-time job.
