What, in particular, are you not pleased with?
the no dental plan-no 401k, non compete clause and the hours of 6 days a week. the NP that works there now has 45 hrs a week in her contract-
The hours may be negotiable. The dental plan and 401K probably aren't, as those are done as group and not individual.
You could try asking for 1/2 day off during the week on the weeks you work Saturday, or for however many hours it is you want.
You could also research how much it would cost you to get a dental plan, and ask for that much extra pay. You could try the same thing for an IRA.
If they tell you that they are trying to get a 401K or dental or whatever in place, or that it's in the works, have it put in your contract that it will be provided within a year's time.
Before you start to negotiate, know what you are willing to settle for, and what your walk-away point is.
Oh, and I probably wouldn't accept a non-compete clause. You might want to check on the legality of that in your area.

Always negotiate. It's worked for me every time. However to be effective you have to do homework and research was the market in your area will support. Come with numbers and be willing to walk away if it's not what you want. My first post graduate job I was able to negotiate a a 5K pay increase and a 5K bonus. Second position was able to negotiate a 7K pay increase from what was being offered. I believe the reason male nurses "make more" than their female counterparts has everything to do with negotiating a better salary.

For that amount of patients thats a pretty good salary. Unless you are doing a lot of cosmetics they are probably going to lose money on you. The benefits are OK but toward the bottom end (pretty average for a semi-well run FP office). CE money is on the low side. It takes at least $1500 to go to a major conference and more like $2000 with airfare. That might be one place that you can negotiate a little. Vacation is on the lite side also.
Non-compete has been discussed before. It depends on how unreasonable it is and if its even legal in your state.

So true...but remember as with any business...they may lose money on you on the front end but no business would make such a move (hire you) if it wasn't going to make them money down the road. So don't go into it thinking they are losing money on you, it cuts your legs out from under your psyche at the knees.
