Hello everybody!
I recently applied to Dominican College Weekday ABSN 2021 and would like to meet current applicants, current or former students. I would also like to read about others experience and thoughts about the school/nursing program in general.
Let's share our experience through this process.
Thanks!

Do you happen to have the name of the textbook for pharm? I can’t seem to figure it which it is besides the drug guide
- I believe it was the Abrams clinical drug therapy book. I would have to double check.
when you mean people are working part time in the 3rd semester, what type of roles? Like pct, nurses aide or non clinical job? I did notice nursing students were volunteering to give covid vaccines to patients
- Nurse tech, patient transporter, medical assistant, Paramedic and some have non clinical jobs. Yes, we were asked to volunteer to administer COVID vaccines.
im confused do students have to take the TEAS in the first semester while also studying for classes? I thought the TEAS weren’t required- The TEAS is only required for the traditional program ( 4years) and the weekend program. The Full time 1 year weekday ABSN program does not require the TEAS.

Hey! That's amazing, congratulations!
I have a few questions regarding clinical supplies.
Do you have to purchase the items from Flynn O'Hara like the sneakers, medical shears, etc. or am I able to purchase my own all white sneakers and other clinical supplies? I'm not sure how strict they are with this. Thanks!

I only bought the scrub top because it has the patch from the school but other than that everything else was purchased elsewhere.
Ahh okay! I guess I shall find out once I start. Also, I'm not sure if this is a tough question to answer as well but how many days a week did you have clinical? I'm trying to decide how many scrub tops I should purchase.

Hi,
did you guys end up using a online platform like vsims? Were lab demos on zoom? I’m confused what “lab hours” means?
Lab hours are at the school. We have a lab with dummies in which you practice your skills such as IV set up, Foley insertions, BP checks etc.. But that all depends if you guys are going to campus. If you are not on campus you will demonstrate your skills via zoom or a video needs to be sent to the clinical prof.

Thank you again for being helpful.
I see that the scrub top is white, is there a specific color bottoms we should get?
