I just went to an interview. They had me take a drug test and fill out a background check, told me they'd check my references. They talked about pay and scheduling.
Does it sound like I got the job? (Seems weird to have me do a drug test and background check if they weren't serious)
I'm really excited about the facility as well as getting my first job as a nurse so it's hard to wait!

I've never done a drug test & had references checked when I didn't get a job. Congrats!
Good point! Thanks!

Most employers would not spend the time or money on drug testing, background checking, and reference checks unless an offer of employment is imminent.
That's what I thought, you only have drug testing done if you're hired so I'm really confused. My interviewer said she'd call later in the week. Well, the week came and went with no phone call. I had to work all day, but I called as soon as I got home. I was told the interviewer had gone home already and wouldn't be back all weekend, I should call back on Monday.
I hate this job hunting stuff. I think my resume and cover letter must be pretty good, I can land interviews no problem. But acing the interview is what I'm stuck on. I've read different articles, not sure what more I can do.

I have heard that a complete drug test and background check is anywhere between $150 and $200. I don't think most places would pay that unless they want to hire you.
Today I got an offer letter and hiring info in an email. Hurray!!! Didn't know that would arrive by email - feeling kinda old right now :). I'm so excited!!!
