I have been out of travel nursing for about 15 years. I recently was submitted to a Hosp in Fresno California. Here's the details. 18/hr, per diem of 420.00 a week. Stipend housiing of 637.00 a week. This is 10 hour shifts. $4 days a week. I am an RN. I really need to know if this a good rate. I was told it was one of the higher paying travel positions in Cali. Seems pretty low to me. I have lived in California for 5 years. Just wanted to try a different place. Please anybody. Help me out,

$1,777 per week. $44 an hour. Is it fair? What other offers in Fresno have you received? Travel pay, other benefits? Higher or lower? That's the only way you are going to know.
Is it worth it to you is another question. Can you live on it? Better or worse than your current job?
Personally, I like to see pay in the mid 50s in total pay but that is above average. Nifty calculator on PanTravelers that let you compare agency offers directly.

The recruiter told me I would take home 1597.00 a week. I would take my housing out of that. I live in Modesto, I wanted to be able to stay in Fresno for my shifts then come home. I haven't checked into other agencies. Wanted to ask others here what they thought..

sounds low to me. check with another agency, read your contract VERY CAREFULLY...
Hi Tiffany, I agree with you. I wrote my recruiter back last evening, telling him it was way to low. Thank you for posting. I will check with other companies. Unless they make a better offer. Those contracts are some scarey stuff. Thanks again, I will shop around.
I traveled to missouri and make around $700/week PLUS living expenses, and that was in missouri... cost of living should be higher in CA. right?
