My ultimate goal is to some day become a CRNA but I am stuck in Alamogordo NM waiting for my wife to get out of the military. All we have is a New Mexico State University satellite campus; although small they do have a 2 year RN program. My question is to stay competitive does it really matter where you get your degree as long as you come out with a BSN and a good GPA? I'm stuck as to what I should do. Should I just take my general classes and prerequisites until she gets discharged so I can transfer into a more reputable program or should I just get started?

nobody cares where you go to school or your GPA. all they care about is that you have a valid license.

NOBODY cares or even notices. Most of the time you put it on your employment application and it never comes up again. Go for the program while you can!! Good luck!

It shouldn't matter when it comes to getting a job as an RN. But obviously make sure you do well in your classes because if you want to apply to CRNA schools someday, they will of course look at your UGPA, but they probably won't care too much about the school unless you decide to go to a top "ivy league" school where politics usually plays a role.
