  1. Has anyone earned their AAS in nursing degree from Excelsior College? I would appreciate it if you could answer some questions. How did you like the program? How does it compare to a traditional program? Did you have any problems transferring credits to a university for your BSN or Graduate degree? How would you compare what you learned to the others you work with? I would appreciate it if anyone could give me some insight. Thanks.
  2. Has any of you out there attended Santa Fe Community College nursing program. I noticed on the New Mexico board of nursing web site that there NCLEX pass rate was pretty impressive. Any feedback on the program would be appreciated.
  3. How long are the waiting lists here in NM? My wife and I are interested in attending Santa Fe Community College for their nursing program, but I'm afraid that the lists are going to be long. I've noticed in other states like Colorado, people have been waiting for two years or more to be accepted. Any feedback would be appreciated as well as any info on other programs in the state.
  4. My ultimate goal is to become a CRNA some day, but in order to achieve that goal I as well as many of you out there need to be as competitive as possible. My question is this, does it matter what school you earn your BSN from if not what will give us that extra edge to compete for those scarce slots?
  5. I was comparing some schools in Colorado and I was surprised to find that every school had a very long waiting list for there nursing program. Is this a normal occurrence in other states or is Colorado just lacking educational programs? I would appreciate it if I could get some feedback as to what states I may have a better and quicker chance of being excepted.
  6. My ultimate goal is to some day become a CRNA but I am stuck in Alamogordo NM waiting for my wife to get out of the military. All we have is a New Mexico State University satellite campus; although small they do have a 2 year RN program. My question is to stay competitive does it really matter where you get your degree as long as you come out with a BSN and a good GPA? I'm stuck as to what I should do. Should I just take my general classes and prerequisites until she gets discharged so I can transfer into a more reputable program or should I just get started?
