Does my Pre-nursing schedule sound fair?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

So I am quite undecided on what to take these following semesters. I currently have a 4.0 GPA, and I don't want to screw things up. I am doing pre-nursing for an Associates RN program , and have already completed most of my general ed classes last year. Now I only have a few pre-reqs, but since I have extra units to full in being a full-time student, I was thinking of taking music classes as extra hobby type of thing. :) Would this be a good schedule? Or should I just stick to my classes that relate to my major :-/ ? In additon, I only need Statistics to transfer to a RN-BSN program, which I will be doing after obtaining my ADN.

My current plan

Spring 2013:

Anatomy&Physio 2

Microbiology

Health Science(Associates grad requirment)

Guitar Class(for fun)

Summer:

Swimming(Associates PE requirment/ for fun :))

Fall:

Statistics

Class Voice(for fun)

Class Piano(for fun)

Chemistry 2B(Organic)(for fun)

Spanish 3N(for fun & useful in the workplace)

I will be applying for the RN program this fall for spring 2014 admisson, that is why I am finishing off Physiology and Microbiology together. :) I am 20, no job, no kids, not married; planning to go full-time, because I'll rather go to college than be working at a part-time job in a local store. Thanks for the tips! :)

Hahaha

I've NEVER heard anyone say that they were taking Organic Chemistry "for fun."

But to answer your question, I think that your schedule definitely doable.

The second schedule would make you more appealing. Take anything medical oriented you could. Look into the other medical programs and see if you could add anything from them like medical terminology or something from surgical tech division. You could probably get multiple associates degrees that way.

I'm confused as to why you're taking organic chemistry for fun? Isn't that counterintuitive to wanting to protect your 4.0?

Decided to stick to the "nursing" route, and space off the music stuff. :-) I'd figured, I can always do music and art some other time.. :) As for now, I should just concentrate on my career.

Here's my final choice:

Spring 2013

A&P II

Micro

Statistcs

Health Science

Summer 2013:

Swimming

Nutrition

Fall 2013:

Chemistry

Oral Communication

Spanish for Medical Interpretation

Yoga

:)

Oops, i'm sorry, I meant to put

"Intro to Organic Chem & Biochem", it's a much more lenient class for allied health majors :-)
