If you become a PA, you have to take an exam every 10yrs, for NP you only take the exam once. As a PA, you specialize in one area, nursing you can try different specialties. It's really up to you what you want to do the rest of your career. Make a list of pros/cons for each.
For me, nursing has its good and bad days but if I really want out one day, I'm making the switch to working in an unrelated field!

So I am been thinking in my head about nurse and a PA. For PA you can specialize in different specialties, but in a sense you will always be playing the provider role and not really have the ability to move up necessarily. I have heard that PA can have their own clinics, but there is a lot of hurdles to go through.
For nurse you can become administrator, head of the clinic, heck I talked to a nurse who was a triage nurse over the phone. All she did was stay at home and answer patient questions. Nursing seems to have a lot of flexibility with life and scheduling. If I want to go to more schooling I can become a NP or CRNA. At the hospital I work at nurses have a online scheduling system where they pick up shifts lol, I don't see PAs having that type of ability. What are your thoughts?
