Does New Jersey still require CGFNS

hello,

I just graduated and passed our local board here in the Philippines. I'm planning to work in New Jersey and I'm wondering if New Jersey still requires us to pass CGFNS or only NCLEX. Would you know what are the other requirements. Thank you very much

best check out the International forum, I am sure there will be many answers for you :)

NJ requires that you have a CES done by CGFNS; it is only a credentials evaluation, not an exam.

Please do a search here on the International Forum for the other requirements for NJ.

thank you very much for the info. You see I'm in a dilemna right now of what state to apply in the US. whether California or New Jersey. I don't have relatives in California. Since all my relatives are in New Jersey, I'm really considering New jersey. Although my friends say that it is easier to apply in California. They tell me it is harder to apply in New Jersey and costly because of the CES. thanks again for answering

I personally would stick with the state you are going to live in. CA requires a SSN before they will issue you with a hard license which may make it a bit harder to endorse. Also CA takes several months before you will get ATT and sit NCLEX and then even when endorsing some states still require CES which when done once can be used again

There's a question in NCLEX application regarding "if the applicant has hearing impairments". I don't know if I should answer it with a yes or no because my case is, I have allergic rhinitis and it had affected my hearing a little. Before, I felt like there's a plug in my ears so I went to the doctor for a chek-up. They gave me medicine and it improved but then according to them my hearing now is no longer 100% but only 90%. Do you think I should answer "yes" in the portion where it is asked, "If I have impaired hearing or "no"

They were asking that to know if you were actually deaf and would require special treatment for the exam. 90% is not an impairment, it does not even require treatment.

You should be focusing on getting permission to sit for the NCLEX exam, registering with Pearson-Vue will be months from now.

Once again,Thank you very much for the information. Your answer clears all my apprehension in getting NCLEX. Thanks again
