CapeCodMermaid, RN 6,090 Posts Specializes in Gerontology, Med surg, Home Health. Has 30 years experience. Mar 7, 2015 I was precepted by a nurse who lived far enough away that she took advantage of the hospital's policy of allowing nurses to sleep in their vacant hall. She said this worked out for her usually, but she did not like it when they made her vacate the bed for doctors, as they had priority.I don't mean to start an US vs THEM, but good luck to the hospital or other facility. You can run without doctors....you can't without the nurses.
