Does the ATI study guide really cover everything for the TEAS V??

Published

I have been reading posts from posters who say that there was a lot of information on the acutal TEAS not covered in the ATI study guide(particularly the Science sections), others say the ATI study guide was enough. I just want to know if this is true.I've been studying for a month and Im worried that that there will be a lot of stuff on there not covered in the study guide for the Science section

When do you take the test? Let us know how you do.

I take the test in November. So I have more time to just keep reviewing the book.

As for the section on the nervous system, it doesn't go into great detail is that all I really need to know? Some of the sections are so short I worry that I am not studying or covering enough

To be honest, I thought the algebraic expressions section of math was just a bit harder than what was in the manual

Was there a lot of them? Were there more percentage, division and addition problems than any other type of math??

I'm looking at my teas score individual performance profile which breaks down each section. There were 150 questions and I'm not sure if this included the 20 that were not graded or if those were separate.

Hope this gives you a better idea of how the teas is broken up. :)

I thought it was very helpful, could not have scored 94% without it.

...

The test has 170 questions in total so your results are based on these 150 questions only.

If some questions look really hard you just have to give an answer. There is no penalty for wrong answers and you might just take a lucky guess ...

The ATI study guide is probably the best book available but it is not perfect.

Some topics in the science section are only vaguely covered and you will need to rely on your previous academic training for them. It is not a replacement for high school. You may need to use additional books to help you go into details. (e.g. chemistry, organ systems, DNA/RNA, geology)

Try not to think too much about what might be missing. Focus on the effort you have already made to study for the test. The hardest part on any test is to control your fears. Everybody has this anxiety and in a way it is a good sign because it shows you care about the results.

Once you give your full attention to the questions the anxiety goes away, especially when you find a few answers that you know are correct.

Good luck!

I actually studied the TEAS study guide before the test, and only focused on my weak areas which were math and science. I did really well to my surprise...but know, my school incorporates ATI during and after each rotation, and I feel that it helps alot...my school uses it faithfully, and we have had 100% pass rate for the Nclex-pn for the past couple years, so it works for us....but people vary! Good Luck!
