Does anyone have online access to the Delmar CD ROM videos?

My school offers a great CD ROM that is a collection of videos of different nursing skills. I was wondering if anyone's school offers this and if you have an online access code for it. We only can use it in the computer lab and it is difficult for me to go to the school when there is no scheduled class because I have two young children. I am constantly doing my studying around their wake and sleep cycles. It would be great if I could access the videos from home so that at 2AM when my babies are asleep I can go ahead and watch a few. So can anyone help me out?

I'm in the same predicament as you. I'm going to search online and see what free videos I can find on the internet first before I break down and buy access. We were told that the videos in the library may be a bit outdated and we might want to look for updated ones online, and as long as the video we watched covered the same topics, we'd be fine.

I personally find those videos useless.

I dont get nothing out of them (just my personal experience).

I think overall the best methods a student can learn the required skill is watch someone doing it in real life scenario.

Plus I find that if I read the procedure right out of the book rather than doing the computer exercises and watching those videos I memorize and comprehend the skill much better. Videos just dont do the justice for me.

Anyway good luck in finding them...

Where can you buy access? Is it expensive?

Hey I found it! Its about 160-ouch! Does anyone know if it is really helpful?

Yeah, that cost is putting me off too.

But seriously, talk to your instructor to see if there's alternate videos that you can watch that you might be able to get online, from your local library, etc. My instructor just said that it doesn't matter where we find them as long as the videos are from reputable sources.

Part of our required package was Mosby's Nursing Skills CD-rom 2.0- I love it! I was a little surprised at the detail that they go into (such as bedbaths- didn't think they were gonna show it all, lol). There's 8 cd's in the set that covers 126 basic, intermediate and advanced skills. I can't speak for the other poster on here that didn't think they were useful, because I find them extremely helpful. From what I understand, our teacher says that they can be purchased separately for $65.00 through the bookstore- the ISBN# is 978-0-323-04137-9
