I am considering completing pre reqs through Portage on line. Need to know if A and P II requires you to dissect an animal. I know most local colleges require you to dissect an animal that they supply by sending through the mail. Would like to know if Portage is the same before I sign up.
It depends on the school. In my anatomy class, we used human cadavers. We did not have to dissect them. If we were studying hearts, we were given a heart to study, or a brain, or some bones, etc. They are dead, there is no gore, so it didn't bother me. I also dissected a cat in my high school physiology class. That did make me feel kind of sad for the poor cats.

If I seriously have to skin a cat, I'd hope it'd have some of its fur still attached so I can pet it and wish it were alive again because I love cats
