DNP at Chatham ?

Specialties Doctoral

Is anyone currently going here? I am interested in their program.

please, if anyone knows of a dnp program that is "accredited," post it here. i haven't seen any program that uses that terminology in their descriptions. accreditation is critical to be eligible for licensure. i'm not sure it applies to a doctoral program. i'm sure if i'm off base, someone will let me know. :nuke:

i believe this program is set up for nps who are already practicing while some dnp programs have more requirements for those with little to no independent practice such as someone going from their bsn into a dnp program.

i believe if you are graduating from a non-accredited bsn to dnp program you remain eligible for certification if the ms fnp program is currently accredited. accrediting also has several meanings, accredited by whom? the state bon (required), by the region (accredits entire colleges and universities) and finally by ccne. with the dnp being so new very few have been accredited by ccne. i would expect all have been by the state and region, if not, stay away. ccne accreditation is not directly related to licensure, each state bon (a few with help from other state agencies) controls np licensure.

Specializes in CTICU.

According to their website, their DNP program is initially accredited thru 2012.

My girlfriend is currently going through Chatham for her doctorate in OT. She seems pretty happy with the program. It's online so it accommodates her hectic work schedule.

I'm starting the DNP program in the Fall...how do you like it and what are the clinicals like? How many hours were you required to complete?
