What's the verdict; do you think IT will become the standard in nursing or just another gadget that eats up time? I would love to hear your experiences concerning PDA's.

My PDA has the equivelant to 7 or 8 books in it. RN Notes, Davis Drug Guide, Taber's Dictionary, a laboratory book, a book specific for Peds/Ob, a disease guide, and I have a few programs that are meant for physicians but I find them incredibly handy.
My partner works for a physician (he is not in a medical field) and this physician made a bundle of cash designing software for resident's PDAs.

Like TraumaRUs, I have a Palm Treo 700p and I use it every day. It's my phone, calculator, calendar, contact list, and mobile Internet connection.
I have the Neofax (the NICU drug guide), as well as Epocrates (adult/pedi drug guide) and a mobile version of Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine for when I float to ER or when we're trying to figure out something from a mom's L&D flowsheet.
