Do all surgeons think that they are Gods?

I used to work in a small community hospital with 4 OR rooms, it seems that most of our surgeons think that they are God when they are in the OR. Why are the Doctors who have terrible bedside manners, usually the best surgeons, and the Doctors who do not have the best skills, are loved dearly by the staff and the patients.

Yes, indeed you are very fortunate, zudy, to work with a surgeon who is a good surgeon AND a good person-- I'm jealous!

If someone is going to cut on any part of this tired old body, I sure as S*@T hope they think they are GOD!!

Just my opinion!!

I'll second that!!:)

A friend of mine had a lady partsl hysterectomy recently. Having had 4 c-sects she must of had a lot of scar tissue. The doc said about the surgery, "It would of taken a lot longer if I were't so good at what I do". Less than 2 days later she was back with an infection and hematoma.

I think it is the one's that think they are God that are the most likely to kill someone. Too much confidence. They get in there and think no matter what they do nothing can go wrong. And when it does go wrong they dont know how to handle it. Just not prepared.

Just a thought

Simple answer, YES! I work in a big city hospital, I have worked with all kinds of surgeons and the answer is YES, YES, YES. I have said to several of them that if humble was a requirement they would have failed.
