Please Help.

thank you for the detailed information . thank u once again for being polite with me and understand what i want to know. most of the people here just start thinking negative about others. i came on this forum to ask a general question so that will help me in my decision.
dashing,
first of all, welcome to allnurses! this is what we are here for, to answer questions. all we ask is that you go a little easy on the caps lock. hint: the caps lock makes it look like you're shouting. we may be medical professionals but we aren't deaf.
secondly, do understand that some people come on here to start trouble. as any other mb we aren't immune to these problems. some people have a strange fascination with bowel movements and urine; therefore, some rather disturbing questions often get asked either to fulfill some bizarre need or to get people riled up.
also, understand that many people may see nursing as a way to make a good paycheck and have job security. if that's all that attracts one about going into nursing, then a reality check is in order. it also seems as if you want a job in management. if that's what you'd like... great. it's just that nursing isn't the fastest track to that type of position and that you'll have to get your hands dirty as you progress up the career ladder. as i said in my other post, it's good to know these things when starting out.
let me ask you two things:
1. have you made any decisions about nursing?
2. deep down inside of you, *why* do you want to go into nursing?
we would really like for you to explore this career. we would really like to help you, but in our minds, we'd like to know why you want to follow this particular career path?

ummmm......i don't really know what to tell you. you have to go through a nursing program regardless of what area you end up in. even the RNs at the doctors office went through a nursing program. during nursing school you will have clinical experience on a med-surg unit.....i think that's required by all programs in the US. you will definately be in a hospital setting at some point and you have to start from the bottom and work your way up. you will wipe lots of butts, empty lots of bedpans and catheters, etc. if you don't think you should have to go through this "torture" then you should reconsider your career choices. urine and feces are part of the job....THERE IS NO WAY AROUND IT! :wakeneo:
