Do nurse managers work on Memorial Day?

Just wondering if most managers are in on holidays?

When I worked in the hospital setting, never saw one ever on a major holiday. Now that I AM one in an ambulatory setting, I don't have to--but then again, NONE of my staff does, as we're a M-F no weekends/nights/holidays unit!

Did used to annoy me that you couldn't find a nurse manager for any holiday, even though they COULD come in and take a different day off just like the rest of the serfs....but wouldn't.
