Hi everyone,
I am a nursing student from texas. I just wanted to know if we need any work experience before applying for the NCLEX exam or before we actually get the license. I dont have any work experience in hospital field except the clinicals at different hospitals. So if we need experience than i need to start some externship programme. So please guide me for my querry about the requirement of work experience before board exams.
Thanks :)

Nope and I suggest that less experience is better. You tend to get clouded between what was in the text book and ....well honestly, what they really do in the real world........ NCLEX wants the answers BY THE BOOK not by what you learn on the job. So really I think it makes it harder to work...do it as soon as possible so you will remember the stuff you learned in school.........I took one month to do nothing but study then took it.....and passed first time.
Good luck to you and welcome....almost....to the wonderful world of nursing!!!

No experience necessary before testing to obtain the license.
