Do many men go into the nursing?

I am thinking about returning to school and I am looking at the nursing.

But is this a good field for men to go in? I do not see many men going into the nursing profession.

Males are about 5% of nursing, so no as a rule males don't go into nursing.

To answer your second question. Yes, it is a good field for men to go into. If you have empathy, compassion, and a desire to help people who are in various stages of health and poor health go for it. Don't worry about what others are doing and what others think.
