Hi! I am a new RN and have just started banking up on my trainings. Do you know which hospitals offer IV therapy training? How much? And can you please give me an idea of how to go about this -- like the completion and stuff? Thanks.

hello! u can check the list of hospitals that offers IVT training at ANSAP office. ANSAP is at the Lung Center in QC. Registration for the training is usually 2 weeks or a month before the scheduled training. The fee is usually 1,700-2000 pesos for three days. You may complete your cases in the same hospital where you had your 3-day training or in other hospitals. :)

Try V.Luna General Hospital in Quezon City. They offer php2,000 for registration fee. The snacks and food for lunch are free during the 3 days iv training program. And after that, you will be scheduled for IV completion for 3 days in the said hospital. They will accept payments this November at the Nursing Training Hall, so be in hurry.

Thanks. How about the Phil Heart Center? I have inquired there but they require some kind of an online pre-enlistment procedure but I cannot see in their webpage where I could pre-enlist.

Registration for IVT training at the Phil Heart Center is still closed; to be announced for Oct 21-23, 2009 training. Check their website often coz it is easily filled up

If you have your training in a said ANSAP accredited hospital, are you allowed to have your completion elsewhere or you can only finish your cases at the same hospital where you had your training?

How long are the trainees allowed to complete the cases?

I havent registered for any hospital that conducts IVT training because I dont have my PRC id yet but i understand there are some hospitals which accepts the claim slip from PRC.

Im concerned because I want to finish the IVT and get my card asap. The hospital that I want to have Basic nursing training at requires an IVT card...

hello piquant! Yes, you may complete your cases in other hospitals. Usually you are given 3 days- 7 days to complete your cases. It depends on which hospitals you wish to complete your cases. I had my training and completion at the Lung Center and they gave me three days to complete my cases. ANSAP gives you 6 months to complete your cases.

There are some hospitals which accepts the claim slip and there are some which really require the PRC ID. You can ask them if they will accept the claim slip.....

Hope it helps :)

hello. i called PHC center a few hours ago and they said the pre-registration/online will be on sept 16. i was hoping to train there but same as piguant, haven't had my ID yet.

nweiz, cloud anybody please tell how does the IVT Training happens? from lecs to cases... thanks!!!

if you have your training in a said ansap accredited hospital, are you allowed to have your completion elsewhere or you can only finish your cases at the same hospital where you had your training?it depends on your said training hospital..some hosp have different payment on just training itself or just completion..just call them and ask the hosp you chose.

how long are the trainees allowed to complete the cases? 6months from the first day of your training.

i havent registered for any hospital that conducts ivt training because i dont have my prc id yet but i understand there are some hospitals which accepts the claim slip from prc.

im concerned because i want to finish the ivt and get my card asap. the hospital that i want to have basic nursing training at requires an ivt card...

i think the only requirement for new nurses to have ivt license is the prc license only..although i heard and im not sure if some hosp just require board rating or board passing...im not that sure.so,just wait...have patience to yourself.after you done or completed the cases, the ansap processing for theivt card takes 2months..therefore,if you really need to have the ivt license asap, find a hospital that gives training and completion at the same hosp..and if that hosp have les cases plus lots of nurses who doesnt completed yet their cases then find another one that gives completion, just completion...i think another payment for that one...anyway,goodluck for your ivt..

here's a tip: have a complete list near your place and ask if they're accredited by ansap and if they give just for completion of cases..if you didnt reach the said 6mos of completion of 662 cases, another training again, another payment and days and months...

I will look for hospitals that will accept the claim slip for registration because I dont want to wait for my PRC ID, I feel that the slots will be filled up very fast.

With regard to Phil Heart center, I dont know how the online registration goes, they only offer 30 slots per batch and I know there may be hundreds of nurses waiting for that very slim chance..

Thanks for your help greenstone and karmela!

nweiz, cloud anybody please tell how does the IVT Training happens? from lecs to cases... thanks!!!
