Hopefully this is a quick and easy question.
I took the NCLEX and received my original RN license in MD. Six years ago I moved to NV and got my RN license by endorsement. Since then I have been renewing both licenses but this year I am wondering: is there any reason to keep renewing my license in MD if I know I’m never moving back there?
Any input is appreciated! Specifically wondering if there is any danger in letting my license expire in the state in which I took the NCLEX.
Thanks!

If you have no intentions of going back, then there is no reason to keep renewing. Even if you do move back, the process is usually easier to reactivate your license than someone needing to endorse.
Thank you!!

I live on the WI /MN border and with job opportunities on both sides I licensed in both states, needed to if I were going to work in MN as MN is not yet a compact state. After a few years of renewing and not even using it I just let it expire. Much later, several years later actually I needed to license in MN again and it was a simple process. There was a reasonably small fee on top of the renewal fee and I had to check a couple of boxes affirming my CEU's were current and I had been actively working as an RN in another state and that was it. Easy-peasy.
I can't guarantee every state is that easy but if you aren't using the license, why continue to pay for it? Just let it expire when it's due for renewal next and if for some reason you need to use it in the future renewing an expired license is always an option.
