I've been applying to jobs in California but I don't have a California license yet I only have my Oregon one. Do I need to have my California license before I apply?

You can apply but, as I'm sure you know, you cannot work until you have an active California license and any job offer will probably be contingent upon securing said license. Are you in the process of applying for California licensure? If not, I suggest you begin that process now. Write in your cover letter that you are in the process of applying so any prospective employer will know that you are serious about relocating.

I agree with the above poster: getting a CA license takes weeks, sometimes months, so you better get started on the process ASAP.

For every job I have seen posted online, a "valid state license" is required for the job. While some places might be willing to hire you and then wait for you to get endorsed, you're seriously limiting your opportunities by not having a California license before applying. Think about it- the hospital can hire you and then wait a month or more before you can start working, or they can hire someone who already has a valid CA license and can start immediately. Who will they choose?
