Do I need a BS in nursing when I apply for CRNA programs?

I don't think that you will be able to get in with a BA in sociology and Associates in Nursing. However, I don't know why you can't get into a BS program with a BA in sociology. There are tons of upgrade programs out there.

About half of nurse anesthesia programs are MS in Nursing programs, and they may require a BS in Nursing. Another half of nurse anesthesia programs are MS programs, but not in Nursing. For those there is not a requirement for a BSN, even some of the MSN programs don't require a BSN. It would give you maximum flexibility to have a BSN, you could apply to any program. There is no reason you couldn't get a BSN after a BS in another field. But why get 2 BS degrees?

check the requirements for the schools you are thinking of applying to in the future. some are strict bsn, some accept science related degrees.

I have a BS in psych and I am currently in a ABSN program. It's certainly possible to have two BSs. However, if you already know what you want to do, there's no real benefit to the BS in sociology - I got my non-nursing BS first, before becoming an RN or a CRNA had ever crossed my mine. You are however, ineligible for most financial aid when going for a second degree at the same level. I'm paying for my ABSN with cash and unsubsidized loans, because it's all that's available regardless of how you paid for school the first time. Why do you want the BA in sociology? You're a pre-nursing student - are you currently at a university that offers a BSN program? Focus your attention on getting that, then if you want to take some socio classes later on knock yourself out. A BSN isn't required by all CRNA schools, but it's always at least preferred.

I just recently think about becoming a CRNA, and I finished most of my classes for a BA in sociology. I need to take one more class to get my BA in sociology.

And yes, my university does have a program for a BS in nursing.
