Do I have a chance to get into Saint Luke's??

I am applying for St. Luke's for the Spring 2016 semester. I am currently in general education classes with a GPA of 3.37, but by the end of this semester I can get a 3.46. I still have classes to take in the summer and fall, but I have enough credits to apply. If I get all A's by the fall, my GPA will be 3.64. What is the lowest GPA they have actually accepted? Am I competitive with this GPA? I am taking the TEAS V in May, so I don't have a score to tell you for that. Please let me know, and be honest because I don't want to get my hopes up.

Welcome to allnurses and we hope you enjoy the site.

It really depends on more than your GPA and the school you're applying to. It depends on the other people applying and on the things that you submit together with the GPA. Application essays are also really important. Good luck!

Okay, thank you!

Yay!! I am applying to St. Luke's Spring 2016 as well! It is one of four I am applying to. My sister in law got in there and graduates next month! I won't tell you what her GPA was when she applied, or her TEASV score was, because that isn't my information to give out, but I will say this:

I think you have a good chance of getting in. ;) Just don't forget that GPA is not everything. :) They will look at individual critical classes (like your Anatomy grade and your physiology grade). They will have to look at your resume, your references, your TEASV and your essay.

Did you go to the open house they had at the end of March?

Hi Leah!

I was admitted into the fall 2015 program. My GPA was a 3.4 and I scored an 80% on my TEAS V. From what I was told throughout my application process was that their average admitted GPA is a 3.7 with a 67% average for the TEAS. They also look at volunteer work, leadership, essays, etc.

The spring is less competitive than the fall due to a smaller amount of applicants. I've heard individuals getting accepted with a 3.2 GPA for the spring. I would make sure you study for your TEAS V. I used the TEAS Review Manual, Version 5.0 and it was really helpful in preparing/reviewing!

I definitely think you're a competitive applicant. Best of luck to you.

No, I didn't attend the open house. Did you? I scheduled a meeting with... I honestly don't remember his name... in admissions to ask questions and get a tour and stuff, so I didn't think I needed to go.

I have my TEAS test tomorrow! I'm so nervous! :D and excited. I've been studying my butt off so I really hope I do well.

One of my professors was a serious disappointment this semester and I ended up with a C in anatomy that I am in the process of disputing with the division chair and the dean so I hope that gets figured out before the application deadline.

I do have a pretty kick-ass resume and some good references. I'm a decent writer and I think my essay is pretty awesome too! Don't I sound so humble?! lol :) I'm just crossing my fingers about this anatomy grade. It's really stressing me out.

Thank you onajourney! I was really worried about my GPA not being high enough. If my anatomy grade doesn't change during this whole grade dispute, my GPA will be a 3.27. If the dispute goes how it should go, then I will have a 3.39. I have another question... can I round my GPA to a 3.3 or a 3.4 depending on how this grade thing goes? or do I keep it at the hundredth place?

I have a lot of volunteer work and quite a few leadership roles on my resume so I am hoping that will get me a few extra points! haha :) right now, I think it could go either way. It just depends on who else is applying and what I am competing against, you know? I REALLY hope I get in. UH! I'm so nervous for my TEAS test tomorrow. Wish me luck!

I think it's all will be ok! I think your GPA is enough to apply in St. Luke's. If you need's help in writing Application essays, which very important, look at essay help. They help me a lot!
