Hi, my name is Heather and I live in new jersey. I was wondering if hospitals really do pay for your schooling here if you agree to work with them for a certain amount of time afterwards?
My fiancee really wants to get back into the hospitals and be a nurse again, but he is is afraid he will never come up with the money for it. He has a degree from a college in Costa Rica and he has worked 3 years in a hospital over there. So I was also wondering if that would help him as well?
If anybody has any good advice or good research links(to get off on a good foot) for new jersey that would be greatly appreciated. :wink2:
Thank you,
Heather

Hi! I start working for St. Barnabas in Livingston in September.. they give RN's $5,250/ year toward education. The courses taken have to be pre-approved and you have to work for a year before you are eligible for this.

both st. barnabas hc system and meridian will pay for schooling. meridian paid for my lpn and sbhcs is paying for my rn.
you can apply online for both systems. i find them to be generous with schooling. also, your will have medical benefits, 401k, etc. while you go to school. lots of on-the-job training classes that you can apply to your schooling. the best part is that the time you work there counts towards repaying them for your schooling, not when you become an rn. nobody tells you that!
good luck!
