Do Home Health Care Agencies pay more if you stay over a client's home overnight?

I'm just curious. I heard some do pay more and some don't. Care to share your thoughts/experiences!! I'm currently a CNA btw. I have a side job at this Home health agency and I had to stay over someone's house for the 1st time ever lol

When I did private duty (which is what you're describing) there was ZERO shift differential. The only differential for nurses was if the client was on a ventilator- you got a whopping $1 / hour increase.

I did home health vent patients and the rate of pay when hired was the rate of pay regardless...unless I went into overtime...no shift diff whatsoever. I guess it would depend on the agency. I worked for three private, locally-owned agencies until one of them sent me into a hospital setting. Once I gained that acute care experience through them, my career took off and other doors began to open up for me.

Have never worked for an agency that paid more for working night shift. When I did a sleepover on a weekend, as a matter of fact, the rate of pay was considerably lower than if paid the regular rate for any grouping of 'shifts' during that period. I learned that sleepovers on a weekend were not worth the aggravation.
