Do you get a CNA license after the first semester of RN school?

I am considering working as a CNA, but am unsure as to when I will get a CNA license. Do you guys have any idea how this goes?

From what I understand, you will be able to better utilize your skills as a nurse apprentice. CNA's are limited to their own scope but as an apprentice you will be able to practice the skills that you have already learned in school which will eventually be much more than that of a CNA (med passes, foleys, iv's...). Why not be able to practice more as you learn and not be limited? Especially since you have experience as an EMT-P. Now this could be variable based on your state and the facility. I will be applying for these positions after my 3rd of 4 semesters. I seriously considered the CNA route since in NV I can take the test after I have taken fundamentals but this seems to be the better choice for me.

In our area, you can apply as a nurse tech and all you need for qualification is passing the first semester of classes. Good luck to you!
