Do you ever get called doctor?

I swear, I must be called Doctor, but someone just about everyday, by patients, and even some attendings. It's actually quite irritating. That is all.

I haven't been called doctor. If I'm in a room with a male coworker, though, the patient will usually call him the doctor instead of me.

Yeah, I know this is the male nursing forum. Just peeking in.

I get called doctor when I wear my lab coat.

When I was a nursing student on my LDRP rotation, I walked into a room to check my postpartum patient. She smiled and said, "Hi doctor." When I corrected her saying that I was actually a student nurse, she completely changed and said, "Oh, I'm not comfortable with a male nurse." You have to love the dichotomy there.
