Do you have to deal with these?

do you have to deal with poo,pee and vomit in the ER if you're a RN? a PA? a NP? if yet, on a daily basis? just wondering. if this question sounds weird, dont mind me

then why do they make more money than RNs? i never said that nurses are too dumb to take the classes that for example a pharmacist takes. it is true that the classes that to be pharmacists take are harder because a person who went through it and then decided to become a nurse told me.

Not harder, different. Pharmacy school is mostly Chemistry, which not everyone is cut out for. Nursing combines all different types of science.

As far as money goes, what in the world does that have to do with anything?!

then i really dont understand why pharmacists get paid more than nurses do. they certainly dont have to touch bodily fluids :rotfl:

do doctors really constantly tell nurses what to do?

That's kind of their job, to give nurses orders. If you want to be the one in charge, you don't want to be a nurse. We have many things that we CAN do on our own, but basically most of our orders come directly from the MD.

im just asking because several nurses complained that theyre sick of getting orders from doctors when it is the doctor's job to give orders and it is the nurse's job to take them.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?

If you think the reason nurses should get paid more is because they have to touch bodily fluids, then you're REALLY going into the wrong field. There are a million reasons we deserve more money, but that is way down on the list. Why don't you become a pharmacist then, since they make big bucks and it's not a yucky job?

calm down. i was being sarcastic :uhoh21:

i know. and these are the kind of people who will be helping new nursing students out in the future when there is a need of nurses :uhoh3:

you know why nurses are sooo stressed out a lot of times? they dont take care of themselves. taking care of pts is important, but not if you are not happy with yourself. go on a vacation and come back when you can have a sense of humor and it will make nursing a better field to be in for the rest of to be nurses.

I'M AN EXCELLENT RESOURCE TO ANY NEW NURSE THAT SHOWS INTIATIVE AND WHO ISN'T LAZY. I WAS BEING VERY HONEST WITH MY POSTS TO YOU--ALL OF THEM :chuckle AND BY THE WAY I'M NOT STRESSED OUT-- I TAKE EXCELLENT CARE OF MYSELF AND MY PATIENTS AND I'M COMPLETELY HAPPY WITH MYSELF AND MY CAREER. I AM GOING ON A VACATION IN JUNE. I ALSO HAVE A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR. AND I STILL THINK YOU SHOULD RECONSIDER YOUR CAREER CHOICES.----ACTRESS--BEAUTICIAN---SECRETARY...ANYTHING THAT DOESN'T INVOLVE CLEANING UP BODILY FUNCTIONS :uhoh3:

Two things, and that's all i'm saying on here:

1) Body fluids are a part of the job, it's either get used to it or get out.

2) There is no EASY street in nursing school, so there's no point of even attempting to find one. And there's a reason for that. If it were easy, then ANYONE could be come one.

And one more thing:

We're not pharmacists, therefore pharmacy questions really should be directed at pharmacy-related websites. Nor are we comparable. Apples and oranges, eh?

why is there a generalization that pharmacist school is harder academically than that of the nursing? im not making it up and it is not my opinion. it's just what i HEAR. i also hear "pharmacists get paid a lot because of their rigorous education"

like i said. im over bodily fluids and im going to go to nursing school after my GEDs :uhoh3: and injury nurse..im good at telling who is full of it or not and i think youre just full of it. and im being completely honest too :p

This website has a forum for sarcasm - it's called "the break room" - and I think the reason why many of us are getting so PO'd is because of the tone of all your posts. We've told you time and time again over the past few days what nursing is really about, and you obviously don't want to deal with it. There are many other ways to help people (teaching, for example) that you can consider, yet you keep bugging us to try and find you a way around touching body fluids as a nurse. It's not going to happen! If you really have this problem with this stuff, believe me, you won't get through your first semester of nuring school clinicals.

it's better to have lots of resources. it's called doing a research :uhoh3:

and too many nurses have this mindset that just because you touch bodily fluids it's offensive when a student does not want to touch them. just because i said i dont want to touch them is not going to allow me to avoid them once i go into nursing. i said im over it and im gonig to deal with it. it's you who are repeating statements :balloons:
