Do you belong to an Nursing Association?

If so, is it national? Does it cost money to join? Do you know of any free associations? I've already search online and came across a few but are quiet expensive. Any help would be great! Thanks

I'm a member of both AORN and AACN. One cost $100/yr and the $78/yr. I've never heard of any free ones. If u find any, let me know.

What does a nursing association do for you? Any perks? I have also heard that LPNs cannot join? (If that is true that is re-damn-diculous)

Networking, conferences (discounts to them), certification (discounts as well), educational materials (journals and the like) related to field that is associated with said organization. I am not sure on the LPN thing, but I really find that hard to believe. If it is true, that is truly ridiculous. You can also participate and get involved in terms of running for office within the organization.

I don't belong to one yet...can't decide which one I would like to join. I think this is a good question, I would love to read more answers to help me decide and find out more about why people join them.
