Hi everyone! I go to a relatively small college and we would like to start a Nursing Club that would also include pre-nursing students.
Do any of you have one at your school and what time of things to you do at your meetings?

Hey!
I go to a large university, and we have a Student Nurse Organization. They are very approachable and eager to help us with any questions/problems we may have. We order our equipment (stethescopes, scrubs, etc...) through them at reduced prices, they organize guest speakers, and act as a middle-man between the students and nursing faculty. Very greatful for them, they couldn't be more helpful!

Many schools have a Student Nurse Association or SNA that sponsors activities.
The SNA is part of the Nat'l Student Nurse Assoc. which operates (obviously) at a national level. Becoming a member can bring you all sorts of info, discounts, and opportunities.

Yup, we have a sna, which has weekly donut days or sub days sponsored by local hospitals recruiting students. Also, they organize fundraisers for special charities and I just got wind of an end of semester party we are having right after our final, they are renting out a local brewery/rest. for all of us first semester NS to celebrate making it thru first semester.
Thank you guys so much for all the information. I hope to be able to keep you updated.

We have NSA as well. Just this Tuesday the seniors had a patho party for the juniors. They had food and drinks for us, as well as a quiz in which the juniors got into groups of 5ish and 1-2 seniors joined are group to help us with questions about the quiz (We have a test in patho this tuesday, so they pulled lots of NCLEX questions from the sections were tested on). Afterwards we went over it as a whole club, then they asked three quick-fire questions and which ever group of juniors got it right got one right, got a free t-shirt (free anything would work!) We've also had a meeting where they helped us with our assessments. The seniors also sign up to mentor any juniors who are interested. The reason why we do this though, especially the seniors, is bc at my university you have to have 80 community service hours to graduate, and us juniors just need to learn =). We plan on doing more reviews for tests as they come. I really enjoy it, it gives me a chance to meet the seniors and learn more while having fun.
