Hi guys.. iam plannin on movin to phoenix soon and i was wondern if u could tell me how far phoenix is from Laveen, avondale, glendale and buckeye? is the commute ok? i will most likely do travel assignments in phoenix but will probably buy a home soon and it looks like areas such as laveen, buckeye, surprise, maricopa..etc have nice new homes that are much cheaper than phoenix homes with more sq footage.
or if u have n e other suggestions for areas with affordable newer housing let me know! Thanks so much!!!!

These places are all west of Phoenix. It depends what Phoenix hospital you are talking about. No, the commute is not OK. How doable it is depends on what hospital you are talking about and what hours you work. Maricopa is the furthest from Phoenix and I would completely rule that out. Laveen, Buckeye, and Surprise are suburbs and it would depend what hospital you work at if it is commutable.

Afghani why dont you try something like oh....say....hmm...MAPQUEST???? If you can post messages forum successfully I would think you could use mapquest or yahoo maps and type in two town/state fields and hit ok --- probably be alot more accurate than asking people on allnurses.com for distances between two given points. Here let me help you out -

GOOD LUCK AND LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED HELP

I agree with Hoozdo...definitely not ok! They call the freeway leading to Phoenix from the West, "The Crapper." The drive from the West sucks in the morning! I would also consider your age...you don't want to be stuck out of town away from all of the action.

Totally depends on WHERE in Phx you're talking about. You need to realize that there's really nothing separating Phx from other "cities" ... it just all blends together. So when you ask how far Phx is from Glendale .... well it coule be just be a couple of miles!!
Affordable newer housing? Well that'd be in any of the outlying newer areas .... but the commute will be like 1 hour+. If you don't want a long commute then you need to move somewhere more centrally.
