Hi all! So I am interviewing with a big IT healthcare company soon and it is for a Clinical Nurse Strategist position. I would be involved with teaching and implementation of Go Live's among other things.... Anyway, I wanted to know what the careerpath is for this type of position? I would be leaving bedside nursing for this and I want to make sure there is opportunity to grow and that I am going to be marketable no matter where I am. I don't want to be limited to just the few EHR companies out there. My only concern is when I do random job searches there are no postings for a Clinical Strategist anywhere but that one company....is it called something else at other companies? Would the type of work I'd be doing classify me as Nurse Informaticist? A lot of the searches I did have similiar job titles but they are all temp positions within Hospitals that basically state the job would be over after their go live period. With this type of experience as a clinical strategist could I ever get back in to a Hospital setting and if so what type of work would i be doing? I just want to make sure this isn't going to be a dead end for me. At some point, all Hospitals in the country will have transitioned to EHR's so at that point will these types of positions just end? Any ideas, input, etc would be great!

hi all- can anyone tell me what the pay rate should be around for a nurse with 3 yrs RN experience with a BSN ? It would be for a specialized unit such as ICU, Labor and delivery, etc... Do they take LPN experience in to account as well if it is relevant to the current position? Does the fact that you have a BSN matter? I just feel like the payrate i was quoted is way too low..close to what i made two yrs ago....any help would be great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i need to take an acls class to do a trvl assignment. im in labor n delivery..anyway iam nervousssss about the class. how hard is it? does anyone know of any study guides that are helpful? the manual is sooo long i have no clue what to focus on. helppp!!

Has anyone worked here? Theres an LD assignment here..wondering what its like. I really dont mind it being in downtown phoenix- Any input anyone can give me will be appreciated!!!!!

hi everyone so i have been searching for a day travel assignment in phoenix and cant find one. however i talked to banner registry out there and they said i can do day shifts at multiple facilities and the pay is 45 per hr so basically it would be about the same as a travel contract even though i wont get a housing stipend- it adds up to about the same money per month if i do three 12's per week. My question is dont i need to have lots of experience to do registry? i mean i know with traveling you should have experience too but they give you an orienation...with registry you go to so many different hospitals how could they possibly give you orientation at each hospital? so i am just hesitant about the registry work and dont know if i will actually get three shifts per week with them...the agency said they THINK so but did not guarantee three shifts per week...and were also not very clear about orientation and said i would really have to just "jump in" and figure things out but how can i do that if i get no orientation to the unit at all?? any feedback would be good...

Hi everyone..so i was submitted to a hospital last friday and my recruiter still has not heard back from them today. Its been 4 days. She said my profile looks great and it has nothing to do with me and that maybe the manager is just very busy. How long does it usually take to get a call back? Wouldnt the manager have told the recruiter if she wasnt interested in me? my recruiter says she calls and leaves email msgs everyday...??

there is a position at a hospital that i was submitted for today through a certain agency. After I was submitted by that agency another agency contacted me saying they could submit me to the same hospital and they are offering better pay and a bigger housing stipend for the same exact position. Now should I go back to the first agency and tell me them so and so agency is offering more and can they match it? Or will this agency realize they have the upperhand since they already submitted me and the second agency cant submit me to the same hospital. The difference is kind of significant. the other company is giving me a car stipend of 500 tax free per month as well as a higher housing stipend by 250 more per month. I did mention to the first agency the stipend was too low but she said she is going to send be some type of comparison chart on monday to show me how it is a good deal. ANYYY suggestions on what to do please???

ok another question...if i actually do get submitted by an agency and i do an interview with a hospital at that point am i required to work for them if i have been submitted to that hospital? would the agency have some kind of penalty if i interviewed and ended up deciding not towork for that hospital? thanks

hi guys can anyone tell me anything about st lukes tempe..i might do a travel assignment there...just wanted to know what type of hospital it is...is it a teaching facility? i would be working labor and delivery...any input would be great..thanks!!!

Hi Priceless-thanks for the info..interesting because my first assignment will be leaving from boston to arizona too! i saw that you are 24. same age as me...so i am assuming when you started traveling you had about the same amount of experience as me...did you find it hard getting an assignment? Hi ok so if i filled out paperwork for two agenices and one submits me to one hospital and the other submits me to another hospital is that legal and ok? I just want to increase my chances of getting what i want... Some agencies tell me when i fill out their application and they submit me to a hospital i can only work with them...but isnt it ok to work with more than one agency aslong as two agencies dont submit me to one hospital? Thanks!

Hi Laurel- ok thanks..that makes me feel better. I am so confused because some agencies (in fact one that is phoenix based) told me there are NO travel assignments at all in phoenix in L &D and all the other ones say they only have nights. So i dont know....

Hi just wondering if its possible to get a day shift contract?? I want to trvl to phoenix,AZ and i am in labor and delivery....some agencies tell me its possible others say no....

what does everyone do about transportation when on an assignment? Do you rent? does the company give you a car?
