From what I was told by my anatomy teacher at HFCC we do not do dissections due to the problems with Formeldihide (ex: if you are pregnant it can cause you to have a still birth) Our school was built a long time ago and does not have proper ventilation. However they are in the process of making a new science building (not anytime soon...it will take a matter of years ha) which will have the proper ventilation system and then HFCC will be able to do dissections.
I hope they put in a new parking lot before they do that! LOL! I was told by a prof. that the state backed out on the money promised for a parking structure last year.on another note, I went in the counnseling office wed. to get "officially" on the waitlist and there were not many names that were checked off on the list they had. It seemed that they were X-ing them off as they were accepted to the list.

What does that mean? I talked to Michelle in Nursing admissions over the phone back in December and she said she added my name to the waitlist. If you had to guess, how many do you think were on it?:icon_roll

I hear all sorts of stories about disections in different nursing programs. Some use animals, some use cadavers...does anyone know how it's done at HFCC?
