Hi, I am currently taking nursing classes on my way for my LPN. My question is does having a medical restriction ban a person from continuing on in nursing school? For example unable to lift 50+ pds. I want to work as a nurse case manager after getting done with school and don't see why I should or can be discriminated against. My dream has always been to become a nurse. If anyone has any knowledge of this let me know. Thanks!
Don't you have to pass CPR in order to be licensed? I know of no instructor that would sign off on a CPR card for someone who didn't demonstrate proper technique of this vital skill!!
How on earth would that even be considered reasonable? What if they were the only person around? They'd just wait until someone else came?
Restricted from CPR just for being pregnant? I ran as an EMT during all of my pregnancies. At 34 weeks with number 3 we had trauma code (man kicked in face by horse). I will never forget it because his widow was exactly as pregnant as me, we delivered within days of each other.I was on my knees in that horse barn doing compressions right along with the rest of my crew.
It wasn't a typical pregnancy and as such earlier restrictions were in place. Due to the restrictions being that she couldn't perform necessary procedures she had to take a break from the program.
