Thank you. I knew they were prerequisites, but i didnt see them that way. I saw them as just being difficult.
RN school is hard (prerequisites like chemistry and biology which are not nursing specific) and LPN school is hard. What do you want to do with your life that you are living (your family and friends are living their own lives)? Do you want to be an RN? Then go for the RN route.
You know being a Nurse of any type is difficult regardless of what letters precede the "N" on your name tag. Also, I have not seen any programs that wouldnt have required chemistry or biology prior to entrance of the program (think about it, if you haven't taken either how can you explain lab values, MOA, or even what's going on at the physiological level with your patient). Whatever you end up doing make it your own choice.
Ok I disagree here. Anatomy and physio in my opinion is harder than any math or science class I've ever taken. I've taken up to calculus 1 and completed chemistry 2. Those classes aren't even close to the level of difficultly of anatomy and physio. This is just my opinion and experiences will differ from school to school, but I don't think nursing pre reqs are easier or harder they are just much different.

I was considering going for the RN instead of LPN, but from family and friends they are telling me it's a difficult program, especially chemistry & biology. So just to be on the safe side, I think I'll take their advice and go for the LPN program. Are there any RNs/RNs students that could give me information about the RNs program?? I'm considering Penn Valley Community College in Kansas City, Mo.
