Hello everyone. I'm an ADN for almost 5 yrs now. However, I did my first 2.5yrs in a cardiac telemetry unit where I suffered a back injury no less from transferring a patient from stretcher to stretcher. I left there to work at a call center doing patient education to members with chronic conditions with DM and CHF. I have been out of clinical practice now for 2 years and feel like a nurse grad again. I'm told not to lift more than 20lbs and continue to have chronic pain. I have considered leaving the nursing field all together but I don't want to throw away all my experience and hard earned education (as we all know how tough nursing school is). Doctor's office jobs seem to be rare and everyone wants EXPERIENCE, especially recent. I am anticipating a move to the Tampa area by mid-summer 06 and would like to know if anyone has any suggestions. My sister is a nurse of 15yrs and has tried to advise me, but I feel hopeless. I'm a single mom of 1 so the only breadwinner. HELP!!!
