Hello Everyone, The applications for June 2020 at Columbia University has now opened. I haven't seen any new threads for this year so I wanted to start one. I am in the process of applying and half way done! References already sent their recommendations!! and an upside to this year is that Columbia University is no longer requiring the GRE. SO I am pretty happy about that!!
Good Luck!
Hello Everyone,
Congratulations to all of those accepted into their respective programs! I know the wait was excruciating, I was there too not too long ago. I hope all of you will be making it to visiting day. I will be a student ambassador for that day (PM me if you'd like) and may be paired with some of you in the future as a peer mentor. Take some deep breaths, prep your mind, body, and soul for the journey ahead. Take some self-care time, prepare the way forward! For those that did not get in, don't give up! As hard and as difficult a rejection from a university may seem, if your desire, your resolve to become a member of the most trusted profession, to change lives, is unshakeable you will continue to push forward. Options abound, ask admissions when you can begin to request recommendations on how to better your application, apply next year or keep trying at other schools. Hang in there ❤️

Hi everyone,
I just want to say that this group has been so helpful to me these last few months. Even though I have never commented up until now, I followed many of your conversations and took great comfort hearing from you all!
I was admitted to the MDE program today and feel so relieved. I am based in NYC and didn't really have the option of moving elsewhere to pursue nursing, so I feel so fortunate. I look forward to meeting my future classmates at the upcoming visiting day.
For those of you who were wait listed or not admitted, keep up the hard work. I look forward to being colleagues with everyone eventually.

I submitted my application at the end of December with alllll of my documents in and I haven’t heard from them for anything. One of my friends went through the same thing last year, and She ended up getting a call in February, only to be waitlisted in March and then told a week later she got accepted. If I don’t hear anything from them by the middle of February I’ll be committing to Columbia. I don’t want to gamble with my future especially an Ivy League!

Congrats to those who were accepted !
I was waitlisted, and am wondering if anyone has any insight into this procedure - are many applicants waitlisted? Do many come off the waitlist ? I only applied to CU and really want to do anything/everything to increase my chances !
People are pulled off the waitlist, especially after visiting day. There are a few who end up deciding to go elsewhere, and this opens up spots in the program.

I'm also waitlisted so you're not alone!! From what I've been seeing from prior years on this forum, it seems that waitlist candidates hear back after deposits (so around March ). I also hear that there are usually up to 50 people give or take on that list but no one knows their rank on it. Idk if that helps or causes more anxiety but fingers crossed we both get in ?

I am on the waitlist as well. I called the admissions office yesterday and was told we should hear back by mid March.

That does help - thank you !! Sending out lots of good vibes for both of us !
Do you know how big the 2020 DME cohort is anticipated to be?
i attended school for less than a month. i still owe them money which i can’t afford to pay right now. but their policy is i can’t get my transcript until the money i owe is paid off. i’m not even sure if i have a transcript from that school given my short stay there. i’ve emailed columbia for advise regarding this matter. but while i wait for columbia’s response. does anyone have any advice? the acceptance letter indicated that i have to send transcripts from all the schools that i attended.

Do we have an idea about when the scholarships/ financial aid will be available? So far I’ve received the $40,000 seamless scholarship & know they haven’t announced all the scholarships yet.
