Diluted Drug Screen

Graduated 12/2017 wasn’t able to take NCLEX until released from LSBPNE which was 03/2018 due to some criminal charges I got as young adult trying find my way . License place on probation for 2 yrs , random drug testing every month sometimes 2/3 drug screens a month , quarterly evaluation! So from 3/2018 till now had nothing but negative drug screens til recently I was selected to test on the 24th which is now my 3rd drug test this month. results in on 27 “diluted urine” how?! I did nothing differently than I would do any other day! I drink nothing but water but not a lot maybe 4 bottles in. 24hr day! But this particular day I had only gotten to 2 and a energy drink got off work a little atfer 3 pm headed straight to testing center which is 30 miles away supplied my urine sample. Clear yellow as usual for me! Now 28 here, I check in. BOOM ? im selected again for urine drug screen. Have not yet got those results back. Monday morning MRO called informed my drug screen was diluted but no abnormal substance found just abnormal creatinine levels 15 and I normally been testing with 19! So instructed me what I should and should not do on selected days to prevent future diluted urine. So now the waiting game has begin to find out what the Louisiana Nursing board going to do with my license! Have anybody ever had this issue please reply I’m nervous reck right now!!?

I wouldn’t think that a first time dilute, especially not very different than what you usually run would make the BON too interested. Here a first time dilute just gets a nasty gram with the same generic instructions that you probably got.

For 5 years, I’ve been going 1st thing in the morning and what they get is first pee o’the day. I dare anyone to claim that as dilute. Granted sometimes my teeth are floating but I’ll be danged if they are gonna get me on that. The downside is that the chronic dehydration (I can’t drink enough water at work, just is rarely time.) has not been nice to my kidneys. However I strongly suspect any program really doesn’t give a ? ‘s ***.

Same, I received a letter once but no other action. If you know you are going to be tested that day, maybe skip energy drink if it is high in caffeine.

Do you get to work as a nurse on probation? Just wondering since my case is probably coming up soon.

Thanks and probably will just stop drinking energy drinks

Yes

Probation will run concurrent with employment as LPN !
